Job Description
The American Red Cross is seeking a Climate Adaptation Project Coordinator in Soledad, CA, to lead the Community Adaptation Program in Monterey County. About the Position:
The Climate Adaptation Project Coordinator will play a critical role in leading our new Community Adaptation Program in Monterey County, California. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with community-based partners and stakeholders to build resilience and reduce disaster risks in vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or a related field, and at least 7 years of experience in social services, community outreach, and disaster risk reduction. You should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to develop project plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve organizational goals. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Responsibilities:
You will assess community needs, identify local partner organizations, and work collaboratively with internal teams to integrate partnerships into planning, readiness, response, and recovery activities. Additionally, you will evaluate opportunities for partnership, build and maintain positive relationships with community-based organizations, and formalize agreements as needed. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of Community Adaptation initiatives and developing strategic plans to achieve program objectives.
