Project Engineer Description

As a Project Engineer at our civil environmental engineering consultancy, you will play a vital role in the successful execution of environmentally focused projects. Your responsibilities will include:
• Project Management: Take ownership of civil and environmental engineering projects from inception to completion. Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Design and Planning: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering designs, plans, and specifications for environmental projects, including water resources management, site development, stormwater management, and infrastructure improvements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that projects comply with environmental regulations and permits at the local, state, and federal levels. Liaise with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
• Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct environmental assessments and impact studies to evaluate the potential effects of projects on ecosystems, natural resources, and surrounding communities.
• Sustainability Integration: Incorporate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into project designs, including green building techniques, energy-efficient infrastructure, and materials selection.
• Construction Oversight: Provide technical support during construction phases, including site inspections, quality control, and contractor coordination to ensure compliance with design specifications and environmental requirements.
• Data Analysis: Analyze environmental data, perform calculations, and use modeling software to assess project performance and make data-driven recommendations.
• Client Engagement: Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and providing regular project updates.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, environmental impact assessments, and documentation required for regulatory submissions and client reporting.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with environmental scientists, regulatory specialists, project managers, and other engineers to deliver comprehensive and environmentally responsible solutions.

Project Engineer Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one
• Civil design experience required
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and engineering design principles
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools
• Technical Writing experience strongly preferred
