Lasso Loop CEO Job Opening
Job Title: CEO
Job Type: Contract/Potential Transition to Permanent Position
Job Location: Hybrid/Bay Area, San Francisco
Compensation Type: Success Fee (Cash Bonus, Equity)/Potential Transition to Competitive Salary Package
Who We Are
Lasso Loop is a sustainability tech start-up based in San Francisco, California. Currently in its prototype phase, the Lasso appliance is an in-home recycling system that individually identifies, recycles, and cleans plastic, glass, and metal containers.
Our Mission
On average, 80% of the contents of recycling bins end up in landfills. Only 2% of packaging is recycled into materials of the same quality. Lasso’s mission is to revolutionize recycling with its innovative in-home appliance. With the Lasso recycling system, 100% of accepted containers are effectively recycled into quality materials, thus reducing virgin material use and landfill waste. To eliminate contamination, recycled materials are stored in separate compartments until they are ready to be collected. Lasso’s collection service empties the storage compartments once they become full—about three to eight times per year. Not only does the Lasso appliance take the guesswork out of recycling; it also rewards appliance users for their efforts by giving them a share of the value of their recycled materials.
Who We’re Looking For
Lasso Loop is looking to obtain the seed funding necessary to build an MVP and to pilot its innovative appliance in homes. During this critical juncture, Lasso is looking for a CEO to raise funds and propel Lasso to its next fundable milestone. We are looking for an individual in the San Francisco Bay Area who is enthusiastic about sustainability tech and who is eager to learn about how Lasso can change the face of recycling. If you are a start-up executive who has successfully exited and is looking for a meaningful new venture, then this could be the perfect role for you. The ideal candidate will inspire the confidence of investors while upholding Lasso’s values of innovation, impact, and integrity.
What We’re Offering
Remuneration for a successful seed funding round takes the form of a cash bonus as well as equity compensation based on the amount of funds raised. The CEO role is a contract position for the duration of the fundraising period. However, this role has the potential to transition to a permanent, salaried CEO position upon successful completion of the funding round.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop seed fundraising strategies that will enable Lasso to reach its next big milestone
· Manage and track the full fundraising cycle, from conducting intro calls to negotiating term sheets, procuring funds, and closing deals
· Attend networking and investor events and be the spokesperson for the company
· Collaborate with the company founder, CSO and CTO to share data room, engineering/technical, as well as financial information with potential investors
· Solidify relationships with Lasso’s existing investors; identify and establish relationships with potential new investors
· Pitch to VCs, angel investors, and family offices
Desired Qualifications
· Seven plus years of experience in leadership and management
· Prior C-suite experience, preferably CEO experience in a start-up environment
· Prior success in raising funds for seed or series A rounds
· Excellent understanding of the pros and cons of various financing strategies and options
· Familiarity with standard financing documents that are well-understood by the investor community
· Prior experience in the recycling industry, sustainability tech, and/or working with hardware is a strong asset
To apply for this position, please submit a resume and cover letter to lasso@lassoloop.com. We look forward to reviewing your application in full.
