Job Description

McKinsey & Company is seeking a Carbon Markets Analyst in Singapore to join their Carbon Markets team. This role involves leading economic analysis on carbon pricing, developing expertise, and managing client relationships in sustainability projects. Candidates should have a relevant advanced degree and over 5 years of experience in carbon pricing and economic analysis. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
Who You'll Work With:
You will be based in our Singapore office as part of our Carbon Markets team. You will focus on carbon pricing and will be part of our Climate Strategy practice to provide clear insights to clients in the public and private sector.

What You'll Do:
You will lead the development of advanced economic analysis and communication of recommendations as well as manage the development of new thematic areas and key clients.

Over time, you will develop expertise and intellectual property (assets) on carbon pricing. You will participate in company improvements and may take the lead on internal change initiatives. You will also keep up to date with knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Qualifications
:

- MSc/MA or Ph.D. in economics, public policy or related field
- 5+ years of experience in carbon pricing and economic or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of economic concepts and themes particularly related to carbon pricing systems and climate and energy policies
- Experience spanning both compliance carbon pricing systems and voluntary carbon markets preferred
- Previous consultancy or regulatory experience is preferred
- Ability to lead teams working on both quantitative and qualitative workstreams
- Experience in upward managing and supporting a multi-organization consortium
- Good business development and project management experience
- Ability to think strategically and to work in a fast-paced and complex work environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in English
