About the position
The Fund for the Public Interest is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as citizen outreach and field managers. This role is crucial in our ongoing campaign to protect our oldest trees and advocate for environmental sustainability. Our mission focuses on addressing pressing issues such as plastic pollution, renewable energy advocacy, and the conservation of vital ecosystems. Old growth forests, which are complex ecosystems, play a significant role in combating climate change and providing habitats for various species. Unfortunately, many of these forests are currently unprotected from logging, and we are calling on the Biden Administration to implement strong policies to safeguard these critical resources. As a canvasser, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to educate and engage the public on these important environmental issues. You will develop essential communication and political advocacy skills while building membership and raising funds for nonprofit organizations in your community. This position offers leadership opportunities, allowing you to supervise and manage staff in the field, and provides valuable experience and connections that can help launch your career in nonprofit and policy work.
