Job Description
CS Energy is seeking a CAD Design Engineer for solar and energy storage projects in Edison, NJ. The role involves 3D and 2D AutoCAD design, developing layouts, conducting analyses, and managing drawings. Ideal for entry-level engineers with relevant experience. The position is hybrid, requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. Candidates should have a BS in engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD and energy modeling software.
CS Energy is Hiring a CAD Design Engineer. The CAD Design Engineer position will be responsible for a broad range of 3D and 2D AUTOCAD design and modelling in a variety of solar and energy storage projects. This is a great opportunity for a entry-level engineer with previous experience designing solar or energy storage systems.
This position is hybrid (4 days in the office 1 day remote) and will be based in our corporate headquarters in Edison, NJ.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• * Develop preliminary electrical, civil, structural, mechanical layouts with direction from engineering team
• Develop preliminary PV layouts with direction from client information and engineering team
• Develop single and three line diagrams under the direction of electrical engineers
• Conduct slope analysis and site shade analysis using CS Energy tools
• Work with existing CS Energy Standards and client’s specifications
• Create and manage blocks, symbols, layers, xrefs and line weights to improve efficiency of AutoCAD drawings
• Update permit and construction drawings based on design changes
• Update as-built and red-line drawings
• Modify surveyor, subcontractor and vendor shop drawings for use in CS Energy drawings
• Run energy models, using PVSYST for system optimizations
Requirements
• * BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering required; Associates Degree or Technical Certificate in AutoCAD acceptable
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD
• Previous experiencing using PVSYST or other energy modeling software is a plus
• Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must
• Excellent skills in displaying attention to detail
• Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power point
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interact and multitask with multiple project team members
