Job Title: Business Operations Project Manager
Salary: $150,000-175,000 (commensurate with experience)
Location: Requires CA residency and primary place of work to be within 100 miles of Redwood City, CA. Peninsula Clean Energy is a remote-first work environment. Employees will be expected to attend in-person meetings on a monthly to quarterly basis at the Peninsula Clean Energy office in Redwood City, CA. This position will also require periodic in-person meetings with representatives from commercial accounts and/or other stakeholders.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Operations Project Manager works under the direction of the Associate Director of Innovation Strategy at Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) and is responsible for supporting the implementation of certain programmatic initiatives across multiple departments of the organization. Those initiatives can include, but are not limited to, the design and implementation of technology projects, customer service support functions, change management initiatives, and select customer platform management tasks. This is an exciting opportunity to support innovation and cross departmental project management while also supporting PCE’s mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The newly proposed Innovation Strategy Department (IS Dept) will support PCE’s early-stage investigation and initial implementation of advanced energy initiatives that require cross-departmental strategy development and project management. The concept is that the IS Department will serve as an “incubator” of sorts for emergent energy programs and technologies that PCE wants to explore/implement, but don’t entirely fall within the scope of a single department. A current example is the collaboration on front-of-the-meter distribution resources and the DERMS platform. It is anticipated that the SI department will lead the first 20% of an energy-related cross functional initiative before ensuring a smooth transition to the implementing department. The SI department will also inform and support Agency change management and planning efforts, and will coordinate initial project management of certain internal and external facing initiatives. Finally, the department will investigate and pursue opportunities to diversify PCE’s program revenue via public funding and new business models and will provide subject matter expertise to support regulatory and legislative policy development.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include managing certain cross-functional projects, engaging with business leads to define requirements, assess approach, manage and implement solutions, and support implementation and administration as appropriate. We are looking for someone who is highly organized and collaborative, has strong attention to detail, and can support activities across multiple teams and projects.
Examples of Duties
• Collaborate Across Teams: Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams across departments such as Energy Programs, Marketing, Account Services, IT, Admin etc. to ensure cohesive execution of initiatives.
• Assist in Developing Initiative and Project Road Maps: Analyze business needs and work with department heads to identify and prioritize cross-functional projects and initiatives that support design, implementation and effectiveness of assigned projects. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and document business requirements and align project needs and priorities.
• Develop and Execute Project Plans: Create and manage project plans for internal business needs identified in the Road Maps. Effectively translate business requirements into technical specifications and manage implementation, configuration and testing of solutions. Be responsible for tracking progress, meeting established timelines, and mitigating risks.
• Salesforce Development: Lead business analysis and project management on Salesforce platform integration coordinating across departments and consulting partners.
• Leverage Analytics: Use data-driven insights to measure program success, refine initiatives, and provide regular updates to departmental leaders and stakeholders.
• Administration support: Coordinate user administration support and training for new business and technology systems and processes. Create and present reports to technical and non-technical team members
