Job Description
As a Business Development Manager at Youfoodz, you’ll be responsible for driving growth across your territory by building strong relationships with retail partners. You'll educate customers on new products and promotions, helping them choose the right range for their business and advising on effective merchandising strategies to boost visibility and sales.
You’ll provide ongoing account management support—ensuring smooth operations, addressing challenges, and identifying opportunities to grow each account. By combining product knowledge with strategic insights, you’ll help retail customers succeed while expanding Youfoodz’s market presence.
Region: You will be responsible for the region between Mackay and Cairns and ideally be based in Townsville or Cairns to ensure you are close to our key customers.
You will…
Business Development
• Lead generation, calling new business, referral schemes.
• Sales visits – discuss with prospective clients where they would merchandise, how they would drive the products best and how it would benefit their business.
• Demonstrations (showing prospective customers how to order online).
• Provide further information on delivery turnarounds, credit timeframes and sell through on the product lines.
• Look at retention strategies to remain “sticky” with clients (e.g., client newsletters).
Account Management
• First point of contact for customer concerns which need to be resolved as priority.
• Calls and visits to advise on new products, new ranges, deadlines for orders and promotions.
• Provide guidance to new customers on the ordering process and product mix of their ordersAssist existing customers in entering weekly orders and troubleshooting technology.
• Communicate issues which will affect suppliers (e.g., delays in delivery).
• Record keeping (for customer files).
• Continue to make customers even happier with the service and product they receive through acting on customer feedback / requests.
Merchandising
• Ensure Youfoodz has the best brand positioning in store.
• Ensure Youfoodz products are displayed correctly to drive maximum sales opportunity.
• Analyse merchandising trends to predict local impact.
• Work with wholesale team and marketing to devise develop compelling strategic sales and marketing strategies.
Administration
• Complete weekly sales reports/forecast.
• Attend weekly sales meeting.
• Process customer wastage credits.
• Complete chase sheets.
• Complete rollovers.
• Manage pricing and product lists and providing quotes.
You have…
• 2+ years of business development experience.
• 1+ FMCG Sales Experience.
• Strong understanding of the sales cycle.
• Proven success at converting leads into client sales.
• Experience working within the retail industry or working with small to large diverse retail clients.
• Excellent personal presentation, articulate communication.
• Strong relationship management.

Duration: Permanent full time role. You must have the right to work full-time in Australia.
