Job Description
Crystalbrook Collection is seeking a Business Development Manager for their Newcastle hotel, focusing on customer acquisition in corporate, group, and event segments. Responsibilities include developing sales strategies, scheduling client meetings, attending trade shows, and managing customer relationships. Crystalbrook Kingsley has transformed Newcastle’s former Council Administration Centre into an elegant and sophisticated 130-room five-star hotel with a signature rooftop bar and restaurant, lobby bar and café along with two private meeting venues. With the City Hall Civic Theatre, Newcastle Art Gallery and War Memorial moments away, Kingsley is culturally connected, celebrating what has been and what is to come.
Our new Business Development Manager will report to the Area Manager and drive customer acquisition in the Corporate, Group and Conference & Event segments for Crystalbrook Kingsley. This role is focused on proactively generating and converting new business opportunities to achieve the hotel’s sales revenue targets.
The Role:
• You will develop and implement sales strategies to identify new business opportunities by proactively targeting past and current Crystalbrook customers to secure new corporate, group and event bookings
• Schedule monthly face-to-face client meetings and organise quarterly sales trips to key city locations. You should be comfortable attending trade shows, networking events and client engagements to strengthen relationships, identify new opportunities and drive business growth
• Create and capitalise on networking opportunities for customer engagement and relationship building. Research demand generators, utilise online tools for prospecting and engage in community and networking events to foster business relationships
• Maintain and strengthen key customer relationships to maximise revenue potential for the hotel
• Efficiently manage proposal requests to meet conversion rates and achieve annual sales and KPI targets
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity, adjusting sales strategies accordingly to stay competitive
• Use Salesforce CRM to manage customer data, track leads and generate regular performance reports
• Collaborate with the hotel and sales team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
About you:
• Previous experience in within a hospitality and/or hotel sales role or with demonstrable experience in the luxury sales service sector
• Strong collaboration, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Demonstrates ambition and a laser focus in identifying and cultivating business opportunities with customers across a wide range of industries and regions
• The ability to build deep and long-lasting relationships to ultimately drive revenue
• The ability to operate unsupervised and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing environment
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
