Job Description

Control Union is seeking a Business Developer for Biofuels/Environmental Services in Plantation, FL. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, executing business plans, and driving sales strategies to acquire clients. Key tasks include market analysis, client engagement, and establishing strategic partnerships. The candidate will also monitor industry trends and ensure exceptional client experiences to enhance revenue growth.
Essential Tasks for the Business Developer – Biofuels/ES:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities to increase revenue in the biofuels / environmental services sector.
• Create and execute business plans that align with Control Union’s revenue targets and market growth objectives.
• Track and measure business development success using KPIs, revenue growth metrics, and customer acquisition data.
• Optimize Control Union’s service offerings to meet evolving industry demands and drive financial growth.
• Identify other potential businesses within the industry that could be beneficial for Control Union (United States), Inc.

SALES LEADERSHIP:
• Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new clients and expand existing relationships.
• Drive contract negotiations, ensuring profitable agreements that enhance Control Union’s revenue stream.
• Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within Control Union’s broader portfolio of services.
• Analyze sales performance and adjust strategies to improve conversion rates and overall profitability.
• Provide sales forecasts and revenue projections to support strategic decision-making.

MARKET EXPANSION:
• Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, emerging opportunities, and potential threats.
• Expand Control Union’s presence in high-growth markets by establishing partnerships and new client engagements.
• Develop entry strategies for new geographical regions and industry segments.
• Monitor regulatory developments and adapt business strategies to align with industry changes and compliance needs.
• Strengthen Control Union’s competitive edge by staying ahead of market shifts and proactively addressing client needs.

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT:
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients to drive repeat business and increase lifetime customer value.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and solutions that support their biofuels certification and compliance needs.
• Ensure exceptional client experience by coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless service.
• Manage client feedback, resolve issues promptly, and identify opportunities to enhance service offerings.
• Develop client retention strategies that contribute to long-term revenue growth.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS:
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships with key industry players, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with industry associations, sustainability organizations, and trade groups to enhance Control Union’s visibility.
• Represent Control Union at global conferences, industry panels, and trade fairs to generate business leads.
• Work with marketing and communications teams to develop thought leadership content showcasing Control Union’s success in the biofuels market.
• Drive innovation by exploring new service models and partnership opportunities that create additional revenue streams.
• Working closely with internal teams and management on various levels throughout Control Union to foster team building and strategy generation.

None - Essential Tasks for the Business Developer – Biofuels/ES:
• Represent Control Union at industry events, tradeshows, and conferences as needed.
• Assist in the creation of case and success studies.
• Contribute to the development of training programs for new team members.
• 15% other as assigned

Minimum Requirements for the Business Developer – Biofuels/ES:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Environmental Science, renewable Energy, Supply chain or related field.
• Proof of US citizenship or Applicable Working Visa.
• 5+ years of prior working experience in Business development, sales or account management with biofuels, renewable energy or sustainability sectors.
• Willingness to travel domestically and abroad up to 40% to meet clients and attend team and industry events.
• Strong sales, negotiation skills and business acumen skills.
• Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and expanding business in the biofuels industry.
• Strong understanding of biofuels certification programs, supply chain processes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience negotiating contracts and developing profitable service agreements.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on revenue growth and business expansion
• Valid driver’s license.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects based on Control Union and client needs
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Comfortable speaking and working with new people across management level.
• The ability to work independently until tasks are completed for stretches and collaborate with a diverse group of Control Union staff and customers.
• Strong communication abilities and demonstrated abilities in critical analysis preferred.
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel etc.

Preferred Requirements for the Business Developer – Biofuels/ES:
• Master’s degree/ advanced studies in sustainability, environment or related field.
• Prior experience in the biofuels or sustainability industry.
• Prior experience on Certifications – ISO 17065, ISO 14064/65.

Minimum level of Training for the Business Developer - Biofuels:
• High School Diploma
• Certifications Project Management (PMP) or similar certifications.
• Proficiency in CRM Systems.
• Previous Experience (years of experience and industry).

Preferred level of Training for the Business Developer Biofuels:
• Multilingual or Bilingual Skills (Spanish preferred)

Physical Requirements Business Developer - Biofuels:
• Ability to work in various environments, including offices, manufacturing sites, and field locations.
• Capacity to work extended hours when meeting deadlines or travelling.
• Ability to handle long periods of sitting during meetings, computer work or travel.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing and use of office equipment.
• Extended screen time for data analysis and virtual meetings.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, contracts and reports on digital and paper formats
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members in person, over the phone and through virtual platforms.
• Light physical activities such as carrying presentation materials or lightweight equipment(<25lbs).
• Active listening during stakeholder meetings or team discussions.
