About the position
The Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Specialist position is a critical role focused on ensuring the resilience and recovery of business operations in the event of a disaster. This position is a 6+ month contract based in Long Beach, CA, and offers a hybrid work environment. The specialist will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing recovery plans to ensure that the organization can effectively respond to and recover from various types of disruptions. The role requires a deep understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery principles, as well as hands-on experience with relevant technologies and processes. In this role, the specialist will perform and analyze disaster simulations to ensure prompt restoration of services. They will conduct audits as necessary and develop and maintain the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Recovery Plan, integrating BC/DR efforts across the enterprise. The specialist will manage the implementation and execution of the BC/DR strategy, ensuring alignment with industry-leading practices. They will also define steps to resolve cybersecurity incidents and establish escalation procedures to address these incidents effectively. The specialist will be responsible for managing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), and will create dashboards to report on metrics, goals, and milestones relevant to disaster recovery. Additionally, they will maintain, test, and update the BC/DR Plan under management supervision, monitor the quality of technology services through continual audits, and establish training programs to educate employees on organizational best practices. Collaboration with BC/DR stakeholders to iteratively test critical business applications is also a key aspect of this role.
Responsibilities

• Work with BC/DR stakeholders to iteratively test critical business applications.
Requirements
• 5 years of recent experience in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) developing, maintaining and testing recovery plans.

• 3 years' experience of data and voice telecommunications to guide the preparation of related recovery procedures.
,
• 3 years' experience of VMWare SRM, Veeam Disaster Recovery Orchestrator (DRO), and Veeam backup.
,
• 3 years' experience of Data center infrastructure development and management experience.
,
• 3 years' experience of Backup, recovery, storage systems and IT security management.
Nice-to-haves
• Four-year college degree with major in computer science, business information systems, or a related business or technical field.

• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundational certification.

• CBCP Certification.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
