Job Description
The Trustees of Reservations seeks a Boston Harbor Watershed Conservation Assistant for a 7-week program aimed at youth aged 15-18. Participants will engage with the East Boston community through outreach and stewardship projects, collaborate with local organizations, and develop job skills in leadership and civic engagement. This full-time role offers valuable experience in environmental conservation and community outreach.
Job Overview
This 7-week program offers an exciting opportunity for young people to contribute to environmental conservation efforts while gaining valuable work experience. As a Waterfront Ambassador, you will be part of a motivated team of youth aged 15-18 who are passionate about making a difference in their community. Your primary responsibilities will include engaging with the East Boston community through outreach events and stewardship projects, collaborating with grassroots and nonprofit organizations, and developing essential job skills such as leadership and civic engagement.
About the Team
You will be working closely with a diverse team of individuals who share your passion for environmental conservation and community outreach. Together, you will strive to create a better world through your collective efforts. As a member of the Waterfront Ambassadors team, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to the preservation and protection of the Boston Harbor watershed.
Responsibilities:
• Engage with the East Boston community through outreach events and stewardship projects.
• Collaborate with grassroots and nonprofit organizations working on climate resilience, environmental justice, and waterfront access in East Boston and across the city.
• Develop essential job skills, including leadership, civic engagement, and environmental advocacy.
