Biomass Power Plant Technician

Consumers Energy is seeking a Biomass Power Plant Technician in Grayling, MI. The role involves operating and maintaining control systems for safe and efficient plant operations, performing routine maintenance, safety checks, and assisting with boiler system chemistry adjustments. The position requires no specific degree and is a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate assigned control systems as directed including distributed control, water, steam, combustion, turbine generator and related components in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain assigned control systems to ensure proper operations. Performs routine equipment maintenance, safety checks, inspections, and adjustments, as required.
• Assist chemistry vendor in maintaining the boiler system by adjusting chemical feed, as appropriate, and in monitoring the boiler, cooling water and waste water chemistry. Implements corrective actions within established procedures, as directed by senior operator.
