Wright Canada Holdings Ltd is hiring a full-time Biologist/Wildlife Technician in Thompson, MB. The Position: Biologist/ Wildlife Technician

Reports To: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct fieldwork by patrolling the designated areas to actively sweep birds away.
• Work in various weather conditions, ensuring that bird control efforts are ongoing and effective.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols for working with birds, including legal regulations and humane methods for bird control.
• Regularly inspect and assess areas to monitor bird populations and their activities.
• Document bird behavior, migration patterns, and any damage caused by the birds.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulations regarding bird species protection and wildlife conservation.
• Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and wildlife experts to address complex bird control challenges.
• Provide regular reports on bird activity, control measures, and any issues that arise.
• Other duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:
• Degree in biology or Avian Bird Sweeper certification.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a Driver's abstract acceptable to the Company.
• Applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid First-Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments.
• Working alone in remote areas across Manitoba.
• Accommodation and per diem allowances will be paid.
• Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE.
• Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations during emergencies.
• Basic knowledge of trees, including identification and growth habits would be considered an asset.
