Job Description
The Department of the Interior is hiring a Biologist (GS-401-7/9) for the Ashland Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office in Ashland, WI. About the position
This position is a Biologist, GS-401-7/9 working at the Ashland Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office in Ashland, Wisconsin. This position will work on native species rehabilitation and conservation projects throughout the Lake Superior basin.
Responsibilities
• Assisting with planning and implementation of activities associated with native fish species rehabilitation and conservation in the Lake Superior basin.
,
• Analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing a wide variety of biological data collected during various investigations and population monitoring activities.
,
• Maintaining and fostering a network of resource agency partners that support basin wide objectives for native species rehabilitation and conservation in the Great Lakes.
,
• Coordinating with staff to procure goods and services necessary for carrying out day-to-day operations and for equipment repair and maintenance.
,
• Participating in the implementation of outreach and education programs.
Requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
,
• Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.
,
• Suitability for employment, as determined by background investigation.
,
• Driver's License: This position requires the incumbent to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of their official duties. Selectee must hold and maintain a valid state driver's license throughout their employment in this position.
,
• Uniform: Official U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service uniform is required.
,
• Probationary Period: Selectees may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
,
• Individuals assigned male at birth after 12-31-59 must be registered for the Selective Service.
