The role involves planning and coordinating logistics for inbound and outbound movements at ethanol plants, managing site logistics coordinators, and collaborating with commercial teams. A bachelor's degree in logistics and 5-7 years of relevant experience are required.
About Verbio North America
Verbio North America is seeking for a motivated professional to join a dynamic team. VNA is a subsidiary of VERBIO AG, a well-established, successful biofuel company in Germany. VERBIO produces innovative biofuels, such a Biodiesel, Bioethanol and Biogas/Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), and feed and fertilizers as well as bio-components for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries.
This position will be based out of our USA headquarter in Stamford, CT.
Position Purpose
The Biofuels Traffic Manager is responsible for the planning and the coordination of all inbound and outbound logistics movements from and to the Verbio ethanol plants. He/she will work in close collaboration with the Plants and the Commercial team to ensure the proper scheduling of Verbio’s logistics activities. This person will manage the site logistics coordinators and report to the Head of Logistics & Operations. This is a full-time Salaried position.
Key responsibilities
• Coordinate the scheduling of domestic and international inbound and outbound movements for all Verbio plants, especially ethanol, and ensure a seamless flow of product to customers
• Effectively communicate with traders, and other team members to develop logistical solutions to ensure optimal deal execution
• Work with the rail fleet coordinator to optimize the rail moves
• Responsible for coordinating truck loading and ensuring all open orders are audited weekly and new orders are input into system
• Resolve delivery problems and recommend updates and improvements to the Head of Logistics and Operations
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency with data pertaining to scheduling, customs, claims/demurrage, and loss/gains Responsible for daily updating and monthly reconciling of inventory at plants
• Provide accurate and timely invoicing for all logistics activities to accounting
• Develop monthly reporting and analysis of Logistics and Commercial activities
• Assist on logistics projects implementation and ERP requirements as needed
• Develop and maintain relationship with Verbio’s suppliers, Verbio’s customers and internal stakeholders by participating in fair trades and site visits
• Create and maintain a database of logistics partners and freight rates
• [LA1] Act as a backup for the Head of Logistics & Operations
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or a comparable course of studies
• Ethanol plant scheduling experience (or similar type of plants)
• 5 - 7 years of work experience in: Logistics operations planning/scheduling, Team supervision and/or Management and Biofuels (Biodiesel, Renewable Diesel, Bioethanol)
Additional Knowledge of
• Contract and logistics terms related to biofuels
• Marine, Rail & Trucking
• Incoterms
• Customs and clearance processes
• Operational (terminal) Knowledge and/or experience is an asset
• ERP systems and Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Understanding of Ag futures market
Additional Skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders, use tact and diplomacy and possess a customer service focus
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions under pressure
• Possess the ability to follow verbal and written i direction
• Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
• Capable of working independently and making decisions with limited supervision with a customer-oriented approach
• Demonstrate effective teamwork by being willing to share knowledge and assist colleagues whenever it is required
We operate 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This position will have an occasional [LA2] on-call component to handle urgent issues that arise after hours.
