Avionics Firmware Engineer – Future Systems

Akkodis is hiring an Avionics Firmware Engineer in Phoenix, AZ, for a full-time role with a salary range of $100k - $150k. Candidates should have a Master's or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and at least 2-5 years of experience in fluid dynamics and turbomachinery. Akkodis is seeking an Avionics Firmware Engineer – Future Systems for a full-time position with a client located in Phoenix AZ.

Pay Range - $100k - $150k/yr. The range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Duties
• Experience with CFD analysis of rotating machines and other flow-path systems
• Emphasis on low-speed, low-pressure ratio fans and blowers
• Familiarity with HVAC&R equipment and systems
• Familiarity with experimental methods, instrumentation, and data analysis for fluid dynamic measurements in a lab environment
• Experience with aeroacoustics modeling, analysis, and testing
• Knowledge of structural modeling and analysis using FEA
• Experience with 3D modeling (CAD)
• Experience with GD&T, manufacturing, process development, and tooling
• Experience with mechanical design, prototyping, and fabrication, including additive manufacturing
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of experience in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and/or turbomachinery, including the design and analysis of fluid dynamic systems
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, with an emphasis on fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and/or turbomachinery, including the design and analysis of fluid dynamic systems
• Job Responsibilities
• Fan and AMS development using analytical and experimental methods.
• CFD modeling for fan and AMS flow performance and noise.
• Experimental development, testing, data analysis and reporting.
• Technical planning and reviews.
• Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to implement custom fan & AMS designs.
• 5% domestic and international travel.

Top Skills/Background
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and/or turbomachinery, including the design and analysis of fluid dynamic systems.
