Job Description

Akkodis is hiring an Avionics Firmware Engineer in Phoenix, AZ, for a full-time role with a salary range of $100k - $150k. Candidates should have a Master's or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and at least 2-5 years of experience in fluid dynamics and turbomachinery. Responsibilities include CFD modeling, experimental testing, and collaboration with teams. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, and paid time off.
Akkodis is seeking an Avionics Firmware Engineer – Future Systems for a full-time position with a client located in Phoenix AZ.

Pay Range - $100k - $150k/yr. The range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Duties
• Experience with CFD analysis of rotating machines and other flow-path systems
• Emphasis on low-speed, low-pressure ratio fans and blowers
• Familiarity with HVAC&R equipment and systems
• Familiarity with experimental methods, instrumentation, and data analysis for fluid dynamic measurements in a lab environment
• Experience with aeroacoustics modeling, analysis, and testing
• Knowledge of structural modeling and analysis using FEA
• Experience with 3D modeling (CAD)
• Experience with GD&T, manufacturing, process development, and tooling
• Experience with mechanical design, prototyping, and fabrication, including additive manufacturing
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of experience in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and/or turbomachinery, including the design and analysis of fluid dynamic systems
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, with an emphasis on fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and/or turbomachinery, including the design and analysis of fluid dynamic systems
• Job Responsibilities
• Fan and AMS development using analytical and experimental methods.
• CFD modeling for fan and AMS flow performance and noise.
• Experimental development, testing, data analysis and reporting.
• Technical planning and reviews.
• Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to implement custom fan & AMS designs.
• 5% domestic and international travel.

Top Skills/Background
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and/or turbomachinery, including the design and analysis of fluid dynamic systems.
