Job Description

Aurecon Group is offering a 6-week paid Indigenous Internship Programme in Sydney, Australia, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying engineering, science, or business. Interns will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional skills while working in various teams. The program runs from early October 2025, with a gradual increase in workdays. This opportunity is not available to international students.

What you'll get from the Indigenous Internship Programme

Over the 6-week paid program, you’ll get hands-on experience, build confidence in a real-world environment, and develop a broad set of professional and technical skills. You’ll learn from supportive mentors, work alongside experienced teams, and gain valuable insights that will help shape your future.

We’ll ease you into the experience so you can grow at a pace that works for you:
• Weeks 1–2: 3 days per week
• Weeks 3–4: 4 days per week
• Weeks 5–6: 5 days per week

Throughout the program, you’ll be paired with an Aurecon mentor who’ll be there to guide you, answer your questions, and help you get the most from your time with us.

After completing the 6 weeks, you may have the opportunity to continue your journey with us through other early careers programmes - a chance to deepen your skills, expand your network, and take another step toward a rewarding, long-term career adventure.

What we're looking for from you

We’re looking for those who are eager to grow, collaborate, and bring fresh thinking to the table. To be eligible you must be:
• Studying a relevant degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project/Construction Management, Science, Commerce, Business, Urban/Town Planning, Sustainability or related double degree.
• Passionate for creating a better more sustainable future for Country.
• Collaborative and have desire to bring ideas to life.
• Curious to learn, grow and gain new experiences.
