Job Description
Energy Australia is seeking an Audit Manager to support the Head of Group Internal Audit in enhancing audit practices and leadership within the team. The role involves planning and executing audits, improving methodologies, and communicating findings to management. Candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience in auditing, with a focus on leadership and collaboration. This position is based in Victoria, Australia and is not remote.

About the Role
Do you have a desire to develop your career? In this role you will support the Head of Group Internal Audit (GIA) in driving continuous improvement across the function. In this pivotal role, you'll provide leadership, coaching, and development to the team—helping to build capability, elevate audit practices, and foster a culture of excellence. You'll play a key part in advancing GIA's maturity, embedding best practices, and developing talent that strengthens EnergyAustralia's risk and control environment.
• Plan and lead the timely execution across a broad and complex range of compliance, operations, and application systems audits in accordance with the standards of CLP Group Internal Audit, department and the Institute of Internal Auditors Assist with Irregularity reviews and investigations into Fraud or Code of Conduct non-compliances
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the audit methodology, through automating audit tasks and embedding new audit techniques to improve the value of the engagements. Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders (including ARC reporting), delivering your message to functional owners and occasionally Executives in group and 1:1
• Deliver high quality reports of the results of completed audits to management through excellent verbal and written communication
• Assist in preparing quarterly reporting to CLP Group Internal Audit and CLP Audit Committees.
• Assist with timely completed irregularity reviews and investigations into Fraud or Code of Conduct non-compliances.
• Stand in for the Head of Group Internal Audit during periods of absence
How can you support the Clean Energy Transition
With a desire to be part of the clean energy transition and prior audit experience, you will have the following:
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or related discipline (Engineering, IT)
• Post-graduate qualification in addition (e.g. CA or CPA)
• Strong experience in auditing both financial and operational units
• Leadership experience in an audit function, emphasis on teamwork, integrity, flexibility and initiative
• Effective in influencing and a collaborative communicator
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Potential successor to the Head of Group Internal Audit, with relevant leadership presence
• Strategic thinking ability
