Associate / Senior Associate - Climate Finance

Varaha ClimateAg Private Limited is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate in Climate Finance to market and finance their carbon credit portfolio. Responsibilities include developing marketing materials, managing investor relationships, and conducting market research. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in relevant fields, strong communication and organizational skills, and a passion for environmental markets. This is a full-time position based in Gurugram, Haryana, India.
We are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate - Climate Finance who will work closely with our team to market, finance, and sell Varaha s carbon credit portfolio to global carbon market participants. In this role, you will support the Climate Finance team in managing our carbon investor and buyer pipeline from lead identification to transaction closing. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about and ideally has experience in carbon markets and carbon project development while looking to grow dynamically in a startup environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain marketing materials and presentations to effectively communicate the value of our carbon credit projects to potential investors and buyers.
• Track and manage ongoing conversations with investors and buyers, ensuring timely follow-ups and accurate documentation of all interactions.
• Assist in preparing detailed responses to technical inquiries from investors and buyers, working closely with the Project Development teams to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Support the maintenance and optimization of CRM tools and other sales infrastructure.
• Conduct market research to stay informed about trends and developments in the carbon finance landscape, providing insights to guide sales strategies.

Qualifications
• Generalist with at least 1-2 years of experience in fast-paced fields such as Consulting, Finance, or Founder office roles in startups
• Interest in environmental markets, especially voluntary carbon markets, are a good-to-have
• Ability to efficiently understand and build on financial models, cash flow projections, and IRR estimations for a wide portfolio of carbon projects.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and scientific concepts into clear and concise materials.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proactive and autonomous, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge and familiarity with agricultural sciences is a strong plus.
• Language requirements: Fluency in English is required.
