Job Description

Manastu Space is seeking an Associate Scientist (Catalyst) in Navi Mumbai, India. The role involves synthesizing and characterizing high-temperature stable catalyst materials, conducting data analysis, and ensuring lab safety. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Heterogeneous Catalysis and 3-5 years of experience. The position is full-time and focuses on developing green propulsion systems to mitigate space debris pollution.
About the Company

We are a Space Safety and Logistics Company, using technology to save the Trillion $ Space industry from Debris Pollution in Space. We believe that the problems of Earth can be solved using Space. However, the rapid increase in the number of satellites is also increasing the risk of satellite collision, leading to Debris pollution—making space a dangerous place for other satellites as well as astronauts.

To prevent this, we are developing an Agile, Safe, Efficient, and Affordable Green Propulsion System with a new fuel, engine, and catalyst for the engine to avoid satellite collision in space and prevent Debris Pollution, which can hence be a potential green alternative to the current monopropellant propulsion technology.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
• Catalyst Material Synthesis:
• Plan and synthesize high-temperature stable and active heterogeneous catalyst materials using suitable synthesis method.
• Conduct experiments to optimize the chemical composition and catalytic properties of the high-temperature stable heterogeneous catalytic materials.
• Study and build methods to analyze catalyst materials.
• Materials Characterization:
• Strong understanding of physicochemical, structural and morphological characterization techniques like XRD, SEM, ICP, BET, PSA, TEM, XPS, etc.
• Data analysis of the characterization results in developing structure-activity correlation.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Compile the experimentation and characterization results and draw meaningful conclusions to drive research objectives.
• Compile and organize experimental data, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings to the research team.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical documents, research papers, patents, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Lab Management and Safety:
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist in the procurement and organization of materials, chemicals, and equipment necessary for experiments.
• Taking care of instruments, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and validation based on schedule.

Qualifications:
• Education: Ph.D. degree in Heterogeneous Catalysis
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience
