Ulteig is hiring an Associate Project Manager for renewable energy projects in Canada. The role involves managing utility scale solar, wind, and BESS engineering projects from initiation to close-out, ensuring project scope, schedule, and cost are met. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Strong leadership and project management skills are essential.
The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Project Manager for utility scale solar, wind, and/or BESS engineering projects. This is a challenging and rewarding growth opportunity where you will be involved in the engineering and design scope of the project from initiation through close-out. The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out on multiple projects that will include a portfolio of small, single discipline projects and support for the project management team on large, multi-discipline projects. Qualified candidates must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects.

What You’ll Do
• Responsible for the overall management of the project scope, schedule and cost
• Accountable for key project decision making
• Manage a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule and cost
• Responsible for leading project meetings
• Manage, document and report on project life cycle updates to project stakeholders
• Demonstrate excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Point person for contract negotiation and management
• Proactively manages project requests for information and action items
• Work collaboratively with the Project Controls team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan
• Responsible for leading projects through all internal and external processes
• Ensure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the project
• Assess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plans
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
• Coordinate communication and provides status updates to stakeholders as required
• Consistently produce results that meet goals, maintain high work standards, and understands the business environment and processes.
• Accountable to develop, update and manage the project plan
• Achieve results by problem solving, setting priorities and organization
• Maintain customer focus to meet or exceed customer expectations and represent Ulteig in a professional and courteous manner
• Provide project management support for leadership for large and complex renewable energy projects.

What We Expect from You
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and/or a Minimum of 8 years of Comparable Field Experience preferred
• Direct project management experience with utility and/or renewable energy projects, preferably utility scale projects
• PMP Certification Preferred
• Experience in Microsoft Project and/or P6 preferred
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities
• Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required
• Ability to read and understand construction and procurement contracts
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Must be able to travel to project sites as required
• Ensure adherence to Safety policies
• Ensure adherence to client’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs
• Report, track, and resolve non-conformance issues in coordination with QA/QC
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License and ability to meet company driving standards
• Must have the ability to travel across the United States and Canada

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $75,600- $102,400 CAD
• Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
