Job Description
Signal Energy is seeking an Associate Project Manager (APM) in Murphysboro, IL, to assist the Project Manager in completing construction projects. Responsibilities include managing project tasks, ensuring safety and quality, and building relationships with team members and clients. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2-4 years of construction management experience. This position is not remote, as it is based on-site.

Position Summary:
The Associate Project Manager (APM) position assists the Project Manager and project team members in the successful completion of a construction project. This includes supporting the Project Manager (PM) in all duties and assisting the project team through the decision, planning, and execution phases with the aim of creating value for our clients. APMs are “Leaders in Training,” on an individual career path leading to the position of Project Manager. Developmental responsibilities will be assigned by the Project Manager based on individual strengths, abilities, and development areas.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Management:
• Assists Project Manager on large, complex projects by directly managing and leading specified project management tasks; this may include but is not limited to procurement, subcontract management, self-perform execution, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, project closeout and permitting.
• Actively partners with the PM to prioritize safety, quality, stewardship, leadership visibility and communication.
• In conjunction with the PM, represents Signal Energy to the client, subcontractors, and other partners to report progress or problem solve matters related to scope, schedule and budget.
• Works with Construction Managers to gain field experience managing schedule, subcontractors, safety, quality, commissioning, and problem solving.
• Supports the PM by supporting timely and accurate communication with internal leadership, customers, trade partners, and stake holders on issues, project status, schedule, resources, budget, and forecasting.
• Under direct supervision of a Senior Project Manager or Portfolio Manager, assumes full Project Manager responsibilities for a project of appropriate duration, size and complexity.
Relationship Building:
• Builds lasting relationships with all team members by acting with the highest level of ethics and integrity.
• Ensures an exceptional client experience by understanding the client values and aligning project activities.
• Develops trust and confidence through active support; promotes open and frequent communication; understands owner expectations; consistently meets commitments; provides follow-up; and seeks formal and informal feedback.
• Serves as a mentor to and first line in the help chain for Project and Field Engineers.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related area
• 2-4 years’ experience in construction management or general contracting
• Strong leadership potential with desire to learn and grow
• Well organized and able to accomplish a variety of tasks in an efficient and timely manner
• Computer skills using Viewpoint, Procore, MS Project, and MS Office
• Ability to temporarily relocate or travel as required for assigned projects
