Job Purpose: Field Quality Incharge is responsible for ensuring comprehensive field quality control and assurance at the site level, focusing on the timely and accurate execution of inspection, testing, and quality clearance processes. This role ensures strict adherence to quality standards, calibration protocols, and audit compliance while facilitating continuous improvement through root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). The incumbent also leads efforts to enhance quality performance through training and process improvements, maintaining zero incidents in safety, and ensuring prompt quality clearances of materials and RA bills within defined timelines.

Responsibilities

Quality Control and Compliance:

Ensure 100% Quality clearance (QCC) of RA bills for vendors/contractors within 2 days from receipt, with any non-conformance debited and reflected in the QCC.

Sign off on the Site Field Quality Plan (SFQP), attend kickoff meetings with contractors deployed at the site, and ensure the meeting minutes are signed and shared with Central Quality Assurance (CQA) within 2 days of contractor deployment.

Witness calibrated instrument approvals and product source approvals for contractors in consultation with QA Lead and Site Head, ensuring records are maintained at the site.

Field Inspection And Testing

Ensure timely completion of field quality inspections and testing activities in accordance with SFQP, inspection matrices, specifications, and drawings to meet COD targets.

Complete all inspections within 12 hours of receiving a Request for Inspection (RFI), and update NC/FOM log sheets in the Daily Quality Report (DQR).

Ensure real-time sign-off on inspection protocols at the site location, with immediate updates in the DQR.

Material Quality And Vendor Performance

Ensure 100% UD clearance for incoming materials within 2 days of receipt, and maintain IMIR records and trackers for contractor-supplied materials (except free issue materials).

Perform monthly analysis of repetitive Field Observation Memos (FOM) and Non-Conformities (NC), implementing Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) based on Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Audit And Process Improvement

Ensure closure of Internal/External Audit points, Field Quality Audits (FQA), MASS Audits, and CAD Team Audits within set deadlines.

Identify and complete a minimum of two process improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, CAPA implementation) based on lessons learned per quarter.

Training And Contractor Development

Provide quality training (both on-the-job and classroom) to contractors, reviewing and upgrading training modules regularly based on past project lessons learned.

Ensure training calendar adherence, and share the status of training implementation and improvements.

Safety And Risk Management

Cultivate a safety culture among QA Engineers through programs organized by the safety department, with a focus on achieving zero fatalities and lost time incidents.

Ensure all Field Quality Assurance (FQA) Engineers follow safety protocols during execution activities.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.

Postgraduate Qualifications In Quality Management Preferred.

ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) or similar certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or TQM are preferred.

Work Experience

10+ years of experience in quality assurance/control with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly wind, solar & hybrid.

Proven experience in overseeing multi-site quality management and field audits.

Strong familiarity with industry quality standards, safety protocols, and compliance management.
