South Pole is seeking an Associate for Environmental Impact Accounting in Xico, Veracruz, Mexico. The role involves supporting sustainability projects, preparing proposals, and managing tasks related to GHG accounting and climate change solutions. Candidates should have a degree in Environmental Sciences or related fields, relevant experience, and strong writing skills in English and Spanish. This position is full-time and focuses on creating sustainable solutions for clients.

Our expertise spans across multiple topics including land and water management, climate strategies, renewable energies, environmental impact assessments, green products, climate policy, carbon pricing, climate finance, and sustainable finance.

As an Associate in our team, you will support the implementation of international, regional, and local projects, prepare proposals, and develop new products for the corporate sectors. This includes tasks such as research, information analysis, and writing deliverables and proposals on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting services and climate change mitigation solutions.

You will contribute to supporting project teams with medium-sized and large mandates and manage small projects yourself. You will ensure assigned tasks/projects are delivered on time and within budget, manage project information and knowledge according to our project management best practices, and support business development activities through desktop research and developing materials.

The topics of engagement will focus on GHG Accounting and disclosure, Plastics Footprint, Water Footprint. Occasionally, some projects might extend to additional corporate sustainability topics such as climate change mitigation, Science Based Targets (SBTs), materiality assessment, and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).

To be successful in this role, you should have a university degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering, Economics or other sustainability-related disciplines, relevant knowledge of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies, and relevant work experience in sustainability consulting or a related field.

Additionally, you should have excellent writing skills, ability to interact effectively with clients, collaborators, or other relevant stakeholders, and an autonomous yet collaborative approach to work. Proficiency in English and Spanish is required, and proficiency in Portuguese is an advantage.
