SALARY RANGE: The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $65,000 to $80,673

Job Summary
• Provides support for the AVANGRID Energy Control Systems used to operate electric transmission and distribution systems (EMS/SCADA/ADMS/OMS & Back office-based platforms).
• Maintains supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) databases, maintains telemetry data and evaluates and maintains accurate information in the Control System under supervision.
• Support the specification, design, testing and development of the EMS system to ensure that changing functional requirements are met
• Monitors and ensures that systems and components are designed, installed, tested, operated and maintained according to operational requirements and standards for safety and reliability
• Provides operational assistance and troubleshooting
• Analyzes key power system data to ensure that the bulk electric system can operate in a safe, reliable and coordinated manner in accordance with ISO/RTO operating principles and standards.
• Works within the Control Center environment and supports Cyber Security requirements for Control Center operations.
• Supports NERC/CIP Compliance Program

Key Responsibilities
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation:
• Control System Architecture drawings, P&IDs, electric control/loop diagrams and other engineering specifications.
• Understanding Networking, security, computer hardware, software applications and data communication equipment.
• Network diagrams, firewall rules, ports and services
• Familiar with energy control system environments.
• Capable of troubleshooting and identifying moderately complex system issues.
• Able to perform simple DB update functions and Queries
• The ability to demonstrate good communication skills both written and orally.
• Familiar with RTU Components such as CPU backplane, power supplies, and IO modules.
• Working in storm or other emergency conditions for 24x7x365 system support
• Able to work under supervision and contribute proactively to drive results
• Background in Gas Measurement fundamentals.
• Basic computer language programming knowledge

Required Qualifications
• Education & Experience Required (Meet at least one of the following):
• 0-2+ years of technically related experience
• Applied Science degree (Engineering preferred) with 2+ years of experience
• BS Degree
• Skills and Requirements
• Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation, understanding the business model; Global View of the Business (Values cross-functional collaboration, understands importance of growing knowledge and developing relationships and links across the organization)
• Practical engineering experience/application - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g., field experience, standardization "Perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives, develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders.")
• Engineering documentation # Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation
• Ability to review and approve engineering work done by others to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements
• Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment # Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and requirements

Preferred Qualifications
• Computer Operating System Administration and Support (EX: Linux, Windows)
• ECS NERC-CIP Compliance Support (EX: CIP-005, 007, 009, 010, 011)
• ECS Support for Multiple Environments (Databases EX: AQL, SQL, Oracle; ECS Specific Applications EX: ABB Network Manager, GE X21, Siemens Spectrum, AVEVA OASyS DNA; Specialty Control System Applications EX; Access Administration EX: LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory; Protocols EX: ICCP, DNP, RS422, TCP/IP, Modbus; Environment Navigation EX: RDP, PuTTy, FTP, VNC; Specialty Calculation Programming EX: Matlab, ABB Calc)
• Substation and Field Engineering and Support (Programming of RTUs/ Data Concentrators in the Substation or at Customer facilities EX: NTU Explorer, SMP, SMP Manager; Programming of Human to Machine Interfaces EX: Wonderware)
• Operations Support (EX: 24x7x365 support of ECS)
• Technical Documentation (EX: Operational Procedures Maintenance for ISO and TO) ECS Historian Applications Support (EX: UDW PI Interface for multiple environments, Application Server PI Interface, ORA-DB) Computer language programing (EX: Java, C, .Net, Perl, Python, VBscript, Java Script, KSH, BSH, SqlPlus, HTA, HTML)
• Gas SCADA RTU configuration. Fisher ROC & FloBoss preferred.
