Envisioning to create a smart, sustainable and resilient campus, NUS campus sustainability framework encompasses environmental strategies of Design, Defend, Decarbonise, Dematerialise and Dialogue under the Campus Sustainability Roadmap 2030. NUS is inviting enterprising, committed individuals who are passionate in sustainability to partner us in embedding sustainability values and philosophy within NUS and University Campus Infrasture (UCI) using a partnership and collaborative approach to support the implementation of the Roadmap 2030, its programmes and projects, in the following areas:
Sustainability Strategy Development and Delivery


Lead the conceptualisation, development, delivery, review and reporting of the Campus Sustainability Roadmap 2030 and its key sustainability thrusts, working in close collaboration across university clusters (faculties, research, education) and UCI divisions/units, to achieve university sustainability targets.
Leadership and Talent Development - Sustainability Competencies Building
Facilitate the development of T-shaped sustainability competencies and skillsets among UCI and Sustainability Strategy (SSU) team, such as in-depth expertise (depth) on energy management, decarbonisation (engineering and technology), digitalisation (smart energy management) and built environment sustainability, and essentials (breath) on sustainability strategy and governance, sustainability reporting, carbon accounting and literacy, and sustainable supply chain management.
Stakeholder Engagement & Ownership of Sustainability
Engage and influence UCI, faculty (research and education) and administrative cluster stakeholders to take ownership of collaborative, data-driven sustainability goals that create value and impact for the university while gaining traction and energising the organisation with steady progress.
Strategic Communications
Lead the development of multi-year strategic narratives and messages accompanying the Campus Sustainability Roadmap 2030, contributing to the larger university strategic communication on its ambition, spirit and philosophy on thought and practice leadership on sustainability, supporting the national agenda.Present NUS sustainability reporting as credible, externally validated and in accordance to internationally accepted standards.Heighten visibility of Campus Sustainability Roadmap 2030 through physical, digital and media publicity efforts.Formalise and strengthen engagements with Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) to promote campus sustainability practices to position NUS as a practice leader in the IHL space.
Qualifications
Post-graduate degree in sustainability, environmental studies, environmental management or equivalent from a reputable universityMinimum 10 years of experience working in environmental sustainability related fieldSystem thinking and forward-looking agility to develop and set data-driven, mission aligned sustainability targets and plansAbility to integrate diverse sustainability topics into a coherent sustainability strategyExperience in working with and socialising strategies with senior leadershipStakeholder and people oriented with ability to engage diverse teams, recruit, develop and retain talentStrong leadership and communication skillsGood analytical and statistical skillsGood understanding of national sustainability and climate agenda
