Capgemini is seeking an Associate Director - Sustainability in Melbourne, VIC, to join their Sustainable Futures team. The role involves collaborating with major clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, focusing on environmental impact, emissions reduction, and governance. Candidates will leverage Capgemini's expertise in digital transformation to support clients in achieving their sustainability goals. The position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne, with potential consideration for other major Australian cities.

The focus of your role: We’re looking for a Associate Director to join Capgemini Invent’s Sustainable Futures team in Australia. You will be working with the world’s largest and most innovative clients across multiple industries and sectors to bring sustainability strategy, implementation, and expertise into their business and digital transformations. That is why we work hand in hand with our clients to ensure a sustainability mindset is part of all our engagements, embedding it into our delivery and explicitly partnering with our clients to ensure our advice, service and delivery assist in driving our clients’ own sustainability objectives. Regardless of the project or client, your work will have a meaningful impact on society, businesses and lives. It’s rewarding. And it’s also varied. The role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. We will consider other major Australian cities subject to circumstances and client demands. What you’ll do: You’ll work with leading Australian and New Zealand companies to assist them in developing, assessing, prioritising and delivering their sustainability objectives. The work will span positive client impact in respect of environmental impacts and emissions reductions, social impacts and community engagements and internal governance to ensure reliable and meaningful measurement of performance. You’ll leverage Capgemini group’s core capabilities in digital, data and operational transformation to support client’s transform their sustainability commitments into measurable actions that can be measured and reported. Setting up robust and consistent 360° impacts measurement and operationalised systems (from strategy to operation to strategy) into enterprise-wide sustainability performance management systems. You will leverage the Group’s core sustainability capabilities locally and globally to: optimize clients’ sustainability strategies, focused on net zero and emissions reduction and with a view to creating positive nature and societal outcomes. Project, predict, prevent and mitigate climate and other environmental impacts and risks: Supporting our clients to anticipate, steer and adapt their corporate strategy toward a sustainable business model. Measure – The End-to-end Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions (upstream & downstream), baseline and build specific sarbon footprints (and later other E & S KPIs) and develop action plans accordingly. Steer and report in compliance with changing ESG reporting landscape globally including designing and implementing end to end capacities to consolidate ESG data for internal and external reporting purposes supported by a transformation of the related operating model. Align and communicate – support clients to ensure that, through reliable data and robust systems and operational models, communication of commitments and progress can be communicated to enhance reputation. You’ll design and lead streams of work whilst playing a role in Capgemini’s growth through successful delivery, contributing to our offers and knowledge, as well as developing new business. You’ll identify and analyse problems and issues that may affect the successful delivery and adoption of our proposed solutions into the business. You’ll apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that the team’s plans and objectives are achieved. You’ll bring the right combination of style and substance, ensuring that the basics are right, whilst always focusing on we add value to our clients. You’ll work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to drive continuous business performance improvement. What you’ll bring: You’ll have deep sustainability experience with a particular focus on data based solutions for reporting and performance and you’ll have novel points of view regarding the future of the ESG and Sustainability. You’ll be familiar with business and technology trends, as well as key global sustainability trends players. In addition, you will be comfortable leading teams and delivering excellence: Management consulting experience with a proven track record of driving business value with sustainability performance. Exceptional stakeholder management, with experience of being able to influence senior stakeholders and “get things done” across a range of organisations, varying in size and complexity. Expert knowledge and experience of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices, and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment. First class written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner. Strong business acumen, a high level of financial management capability, and experience of providing key Management Information to support the business. Understanding of modern digital technologies. Experience in people management and proven ability to nurture and develop individuals. Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation and to enlist support and commitment from peers in developing, selling and delivering consulting solutions.
