Climate Salad is seeking an Associate Director of Sustainable Building Performance in Sydney, offering a salary of $160-180k plus super. This full-time role is hybrid, allowing for both office and remote work. The position involves optimizing building performance for sustainability, collaborating with various stakeholders, and leading a team. Salary: $160-180k Base + Super
Hours: Full time permanent office/wfh hybrid

The opportunity: The Building Performance Lead will play a key role in analysing and optimising the performance of buildings to enhance overall sustainability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that contribute to a more sustainable future.

You will be responsible for:
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of building systems and components to assess and audit energy usage, thermal comfort, indoor air quality, and overall performance, adhering to Australian building codes and standards.
• Utilising energy modelling software such as IES and familiarity with building management systems, to simulate and optimise building performance under various conditions.
• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to develop sustainable design strategies and recommend design modifications, retrofits, and technology upgrades to improve building performance and meet sustainability goals.
• Leading a small dedicated team of professionals and supporting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Building new and fostering existing client relationships.

About you: You are a leader within the energy efficiency and audit space for the built environment with a proven track record of reducing energy consumption and increasing overall building performance. You will also have experience seeking out new business opportunities and growing those relationships into long-term partnerships.

In addition, you will have:
• Tertiary Degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights, considering Australian building regulations and standards.
• Professional certifications such as Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP), NABERS Accredited Assessor, and Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to advancing environmental stewardship through innovative engineering solutions, with a focus on the Australian built environment.
