Job Description

The University of Idaho is seeking an Associate Director for its Environmental Science Program. Responsibilities include coordinating with faculty, assisting in program management, organizing events, leading recruitment efforts, and teaching one course annually. Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant field and experience in interdisciplinary activities. Preferred qualifications include program administration experience and familiarity with research proposals.
Position Summary
Specifically, and in partnership with the Director, the Associate Director will be responsible for: Coordinating with core and affiliate faculty across campus to grow membership and strengthen the program identity and university-wide commitment Assisting the director in ongoing program management, including strategic planning and implementation of initiatives based on program assessment Coordinating logistics for program-sponsored events Leading recruiting and retention efforts Teaching one course in ENVS per year that reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the program

Required Qualifications
PhD in any field related to Environmental Science (the Environmental Science program is interdisciplinary) Current University of Idaho associate professor or higher with a terminal degree in any field related to environmental science. Experience working in interdisciplinary activities

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with program administration Experience with interdisciplinary research proposals and/or grant budget management
