The Associate Consultant position at Energy and Environmental Economics (E3) involves conducting research and evaluation to support customer projects in the energy sector. • About You
• The Work
The Associate Consultant is a vital contributor to our team. Any team member may play a significant role in a project, and recent graduates work alongside senior partners. The position conducts research and evaluation to aid the delivery of customer work under the direction of senior-level team members. You will have the opportunity to immediately assist project work to inform customer strategies by contributing to in-house forecasting models, quantifying various market strategies, studying market portfolios and stakeholder needs, benchmarking industry standards, and developing policy and market overviews.

• Work Environment
Hybrid and flexible work environment that adapts to changing needs of projects and safety requirements. E3 thrives in a strong collaborative office-based working environment but has also adapted to the safety requirements of our employees. Must be able to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
• Responsibilities:
- Assist the delivery of customer work through modeling, developing presentations, writing, and preparing reports and papers, and helping with additional customer requests
- Conduct independent research using your ingenuity and curiosity to make reasonable assumptions and produce appropriate solutions, at times with incomplete information. This may include country-level energy market research, delving into standards documents to find specific references or proof points, as well as research on complicated topics such as regulatory proceedings.
- Translate results of research, reports, and insights into clear visual representations
- Aid project heads in the creation or editing of spreadsheets to be "client-ready,” including developing tools for stakeholder products
- Simple modifications to existing tools and models
- Proactively track actual performance of own work performed against the established plan, with ongoing communication with the Director or Manager
- Capture project learnings and repeatable products and work samples for future use according to knowledge management processes
- Assist with internal initiatives as needed
• Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with a strong academic record in engineering, economics, computer science, public policy, or related field
- 0-2 years of prior experience desired specifically addressing energy and climate change issues and/or demonstrated academic related project work
- Hands-on experience, academic project work, or extensive knowledge base related to one of our Practice Areas: - Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, and Integrated System Planning
- You work collaboratively and assist each member of your team to do their greatest work, aware that each brings different experiences to the table
- High fluency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; programming experience in Python is also valued
- Desire to work in a dynamic office environment with oth
