About this Role
As an Associate in Capital Markets at Scout Clean Energy, you will play a crucial role in capital raising activities for our expanding portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects. The position demands a candidate with a strong financial acumen who is ready to engage in high-volume transactions and support the team’s growth. This role requires you to manage relationships with various capital providers while collaborating across departments to drive transactions smoothly to a close. You will contribute through financial modeling, transaction management, and engagement with investment stakeholders to foster successful capital financing endeavors.
Responsibilities
• Support transactions across the investment lifecycle, from origination to financial modeling, board approvals, due diligence, definitive documentation, and deal closing.
• Draft compelling transaction marketing materials for distribution to prospective lenders and investors.
• Analyze term sheets and proposals to support recommendations for optimal financing structures to senior management.
• Maintain transaction models for debt, tax equity, and other equity processes.
• Support transaction due diligence and interface with external financing parties and consultants.
• Collaborate with Development, Commercial, EPC, and Asset Management teams to collect, organize, and manage transaction deliverables in external data rooms.
• Develop and manage relationships with external counsel, advisors, and providers of debt, tax equity, and equity capital to optimize project financings.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in renewables investment banking and/or the renewable energy industry, with a focus on modeling tax equity and debt structures.
• Experience in utility-scale renewable energy finance (> 80 MW per project) is preferred.
• Experience supporting renewables capital markets transactions is preferred (tax equity, project debt, corporate debt, M&A).
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VBA), Word, and PowerPoint.
• Independent learner who can quickly apply lessons learned in one area to all other work areas.
• Self-motivator with exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and deliver top-quality work product in multiple areas without direct supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• High emotional IQ with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Target base salary: $80,000 – $100,000 (Negotiable for the right candidate).
