Description

Responsible for the safe, proper and efficient operation and maintenance of the assigned solar plant. Position is responsible for operating and monitoring equipment, recording operational data, and reporting any abnormalities. Perform minor maintenance tasks and assist higher-level technicians in the operations and maintenance of the power plant. Overtime, shift work, and travel may be required. Work is performed under the supervision and direction of the maintenance manager.
Responsibilities
• Perform technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility.
• Inspect and monitor equipment to detect malfunctions, need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
• Perform work independently and/or in work crews.
• Take on additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or general education degree; with one to three years of experience or related education in power plant operation/maintenance or equivalent education and experience.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical fundamentals of PV systems in power facilities.
• A valid California driver’s license is required.
• A two-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certificate/qualification is preferred.
• Two plus years of field experience with significant experience in one or more of the following:
Instrumentation/Electrical, Instrument and Control (I&C), and/or C&I Electrician experience will be considered in lieu of applicable solar experience.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in power facilities.
