About the Role :

Raahgiri Foundation invites a dedicated professional to join our team as Assistant Program Manager for Cities and Urban Landscape . This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of India's urban spaces, with a particular focus on the creation of sustainable, vibrant and inclusive complete streets. We seek an individual with a deep understanding of urban planning principles and a passion for fostering communities where people thrive.

Responsibilities :
• Lead research and analysis, and disseminate best practices to enhance urban landscapes and develop transformative complete street initiatives.
• Conceptualize and implement innovative programs that prioritize pedestrian and cyclist safety, accessibility, and the creation of welcoming public spaces.
• Forge strong collaborations with government bodies, community organizations, and private sector partners to champion the adoption of best practices in urban landscape design.
• Develop and deliver impactful training and capacity-building programs, empowering stakeholders to create and maintain thriving complete streets.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of urban landscape projects, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and maximize positive impact.
• Stay informed of emerging trends and technologies in urban design and complete street development, contributing to the evolution of our initiatives.
• Advocate for progressive policies and regulations that prioritize the creation of people-centered urban environments.
• Produce clear and compelling reports and presentations, effectively communicating project outcomes and advocating for sustainable urban development.

Qualifications :
• Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in urban planning or landscape design within the Indian context.
• Proven success in developing and implementing impactful urban landscape projects, with a specific focus on complete streets.
• Comprehensive understanding of Indian urban planning policies, laws, and regulations.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to finding innovative solutions.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, GIS, and data analysis tools.
• Fluency in Hindi and English.

Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience working in partnership with government agencies and NGOs.
• Expertise in conducting thorough site audits and surveys.
• Knowledge of international best practices in complete street design and urban landscape development.
• Proven experience in project management.
