Position Description

Summary:

The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a one-year sabbatical replacement faculty position in organic chemistry at the rank of Instructor, beginning August 25, 2025. The successful candidate will teach organic chemistry lecture and labs, as well as other chemistry courses as needed by the department.

Duties:
• Teach and develop courses/laboratories in organic chemistry.
• Participate in service activities for the program, department, college, university, and the community as available.
• Engage in professional development opportunities, including research, as time and resources are available.

Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred):
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D., or ABD, in Chemistry with expertise in Organic Chemistry.
• Experience teaching organic chemistry lectures and/or labs.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with various student learner populations.
