Job Description:

Wittenberg University's Environmental Science Program invites applications for a tenure track position in environmental science focused on climate change and its impacts, beginning August 2025. The disciplinary interest of the successful candidate is secondary to the ability to teach an introductory course on global climate change and contribute to teaching or designing other courses in the environmental science curriculum. The current course examines the science of global climate change, natural and human-introduced climate forcing, and the environmental impacts of global climate change. The successful candidate will also contribute to the abiotic component of a team-taught introductory course in environmental science, an environmental research methods course, and an advanced undergraduate course in the area of disciplinary expertise of the candidate. A desire to incorporate undergraduate students in research and an openness to community-based projects is welcomed.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. and candidates that are ABD working toward completion will be considered. Candidates must have a strong commitment and interest in teaching in the liberal arts and sciences context. We invite applicants with expertise in one or more of the following thematic areas: climate science, biogeochemistry, hydrology, agriculture, food science or related fields. We particularly encourage applicants employing one or more of the following in their teaching, outreach, or research: community engagement, especially marginalized communities, GIS, field data and methods, environmental research methods.
