The Department of Economics and the Ralph O'Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) at Johns Hopkins University seek junior faculty candidates in the fields of energy and environmental economics as part of a cluster search related to sustainable energy and climate. Applicants from related fields, such as industrial organization, public economics, time series econometrics, environmental macroeconomics, or applied microeconomics, with applications to energy and the environment are welcomed. The appointment will be in the Department of Economics. Successful candidates will join ROSEI, a fast-growing endowed university-wide institute with 17 core and 40 affiliated faculty. This position provides an opportunity to develop a world-class program of research in sustainable energy as part of this new Institute and collaborate with researchers at ROSEI's NSF Global Climate Center EPICS, DOE Center of Excellence ARROW, and Net-Zero Industry Policy Lab.

Qualifications

A Ph.D is required, but we will accept applications from doctoral students expected to fulfill Ph.D degree requirements by May 2025.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
