Job Description
The Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is seeking an Assistant/Field Officer for its Coral Reef Recovery Project in Mithapur, Gujarat. Candidates should have a Master's in Marine Biology or related fields, a valid SCUBA diving license, and knowledge of GIS. Responsibilities include managing marine laboratories, assessing coral health, and project management. The role requires collaboration with team members and compliance with safety protocols. Fluency in Hindi and Gujarati is preferred.

Qualification Requirement:
Masters in Marine Biology/Environmental Studies/Wildlife Biology/Life Sciences
Experience Required
0-5 years
Additional Requirement
Valid SCUBA diving license
Knowledge in GIS and statistical software
Prior experience of working in marine and coastal environments
Working knowledge of Hindi and Gujarati is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
a) Manage and maintain the marine wet-laboratory, ensuring all equipment is operational and safe.
b) Assess the health and development of corals and marine life and analyse the data collected
c) Undertake the installation of the biorocks, its periodic inspection and maintenance
d) Undertake the construction and monitoring of artificial reefs and coral gardens.
e) Conduct other field activities in line with the activities planned
Project Management:
a) Ensure compliance with safety protocols and statutory diving requirements.
b) Collaborate with all the project team members to coordinate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring implementation, clear communication and accountability.
Fund & Financial Management:
a) Ensure all financial transactions comply with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
b) Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely disbursement of funds and reconciliation of accounts.
c) Provide inputs and ideas to the Project Manager for the preparation of funding proposals and grant applications.
External Communication / Co-ordination:
a) Work in collaboration with the Communications Division for the development of content for social media platforms, the project website, newsletters and other digital channels based on the activities being undertaken.
MIS & Reports:
a) Collect, organise and maintain records of all the project related data and documents for repository and inventory purposes.
b) Prepare donor reports and coordinate donor visits to project sites and any other donor servicing that may be required,
