Job Description:

Western Kentucky University seeks to hire an individual for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Facilities and Event Management. This is a 12-month, full-time position reporting directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA, and the NCAA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the facility manager for the Hilltopper Fieldhouse.
• Responsible for scheduling the athletics space in the Hilltopper Fieldhouse.
• Serve as game manager for a minimum of two Olympic sports home events and coordinate all aspects surrounding them, including but not limited to: Manage and communicate with game officials.
• Coordinate game day operations with visiting teams prior to their arrival and throughout the event.
• Hire and oversee official scoring personnel and PA announcer.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise on site as needed.
• Coordinate and communicate with Conference USA staff as needed.
• Supervise graduate assistants and multiple undergraduate student workers and interns at all athletic facilities.
• Responsible for the creation and distribution of game day credentials for all credentialed WKU events.
• Serve as facilities manager for external events hosted in athletic facilities.
• Oversee and manage daily maintenance and operations of Football Stadium, Baseball Field Complex, Hilltopper Fieldhouse, and the Track Facility.
• Perform regular facilities inspections, and coordinate and oversee University Facilities Management and Building Services Attendant staff at athletic events.
• Responsible for submitting work orders, service requests, and project requests surrounding routine and preventative maintenance, facility upgrades, and potential projects.
• Serve on WKU committees as assigned.
• Assist with overall game management for Football and Men's Basketball.
• Assist tournament director in any post-season athletic events for all sports.
• Support the Senior Associate AD for Facilities and Director of Facilities in the operations of all athletic facilities.

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
• Knowledge of NCAA playing rules and game management policies.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of each sport offered at Western Kentucky University.

Requirements:
• Minimum two years' experience with event and facility management experience.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Salary Range: $43,896 - $48,420
