Sheffield City Council seeks an Assistant Director of City Sustainability to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the city's sustainability and addressing climate change challenges. Sheffield is a pioneer of sustainability: one of the first places in the UK to build a district heating network, we also designed the internationally acclaimed ‘Grey to Green’ scheme around Kelham and Riverside, combining sustainable urban drainage with active travel routes and flood-resistant planting. We are also developing Sheffield’s first Green Bond investment programme.

Experience of working across a range of different programmes, leading change and building relationships with local and strategic investors would be a definite advantage.
