Job Description:
Figurr Architects Collective is seeking an Architectural Technician with advanced knowledge of sustainable design to join our office. The candidate will assist all office staff with internal consultation and support with developing sustainable design approaches. They will design and develop highly efficient building envelopes and their details to meet green certification standards for projects. The successful candidate will assist our aviation division in coordinating with our consultants and clients on sustainable approaches.
We are looking for a candidate who can:
- Create 2D and 3D models
- Prepare proposals
- Analyze technical documents and reports
- Tender contracts
- Assist in supervising construction projects
- Prepare working drawings
- Supervise architectural technical staff
- Write specifications
- Monitor and inspect work
- Estimate costs and materials
- Construct architectural and display models
- Assist in design development
- Prepare presentation graphics and drawings
- Consult on sustainable approaches to building design
We offer you:
- Competitive compensation (Salary: $31.25/ hour / 37.5 hours per week);
- Full Time: 9:00 - 5:00 pm;
- Term or Contract - 3 years;
- Starts as soon as possible;
- Group insurance.
You have the following qualifications:
- College diploma, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 - 2 years in architectural technology with a specialization in sustainable design;
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in the field;
- Knowledge of the Latin American market;
- In-depth knowledge of construction principles, particularly with regard to the building envelope;
- Expertise in the design of technical details;
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial construction, Institutional construction, Interior and space planning, Renovations, Residential construction, Restoration and/or preservation;
- Knowledge of building codes and standards;
- Experience in site supervision and construction administration;
- Experience in cost estimation;
- LEED Green Associate credential is required;
- Knowledge of Passive House;
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite apps, Microsoft Office programs, Sketch Up, Twin Motion, AutoCAD and U-Bakus.
- Good knowledge of REVIT.
