Shive-Hattery’s Madison, WI office has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Architect with 8-15 years of experience in the business development, design, and leadership of Architectural projects to join and support our Higher Education and Civic teams.

As the first architect in our Madison, WI office, you will be leading our architectural expansion there – we are looking for candidates who have established client relationships in Madison with Higher Education / Civic / Government work.

Responsibilities:
• Lead architectural design and project management efforts for projects serving higher education, civic, and government clients.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams within the Madison office and across the entire Shive-Hattery ecosystem on local, regional, and national projects.
• Work closely with the Madison Office leadership and the Higher Education and Civic Market Leaders to create and implement business development strategies to grow relationships, win work, and expand the Shive-Hattery architectural practice locally and regionally.

Qualifications:
• Completed an accredited professional degree program with a bachelor's degree or master's degree in architecture or have equivalent education and experience.
• Licensed to practice architecture in the State of Wisconsin (licenses in other states are valued).
• Proven experience in relationship building, business development, winning work, and leading project teams through every phase of the design process.
• Excellent communication skills that set you apart in the profession.
• High degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process.
• Experience leading project stakeholder engagement sessions with owners, users, and community groups.
• Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently while supporting collaboration across project teams and disciplines.
