Job Description
Randstad Australia is seeking expressions of interest for the AO4 Disaster Response Officer role, focused on community recovery efforts after natural disasters. Candidates must be flexible, available immediately, and willing to travel throughout the Gold Coast. Responsibilities include providing support, administrative tasks, and customer service. The position offers $58.02 per hour plus super, with no specific qualifications required. Roles become available as needed during disaster events.
We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates who would be available to assist immediately, if required, to provide assistance in community recovery efforts in the unfortunate event of a natural disaster such as floods, fires, cyclones and disease outbreaks.
Community Recovery services help disaster-affected people by providing emotional support, material aid and financial assistance.
Positions vary in responsibilities and will be located throughout the Gold Coast. Assignment durations are dependent on the impact of a natural disaster. You must be flexible with availability and willing to travel to different locations throughout the Gold Coast, as and when needed. This position is at AO4 level, paying $58.02 p/hr plus super.
Duties:
• Helping individuals and families with practical information, referring them to support services.
• Administrative Support
• Grant assessment and application processing
• Data Entry
• Inbox management
• Customer service
Key Skills/experience required:
• Flexible with availability - able to work mornings / evenings and on weekends if required.
• Available immediately - ability to start next day if required
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Previous customer facing experience, with proven ability to excel in dynamic situations
• Ability to demonstrate strong emotional resilence
• Adaptability and understand the value of team collaboration
• Be a fast learner and able to operative in a fast paced and changing environment
• An ability to demonstrate empathy and a willingness to respect others’ needs
• An ability to use initiative and adapt quickly to changing work priorities
• High attention to detail
