About the workplace

As an Analyst, Climate Finance, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving sustainable investment decisions that accelerate the transition to a greener economy. You'll dive deep into financial modeling, underwriting, and impact reporting, working closely with senior leaders to structure climate finance transactions and optimize portfolio performance.

This permanent, full-time role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity Community Investment Bank head office location and your Ontario based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week.

A typical day will involve:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and statements
• Support deal structuring and underwriting functions related to climate finance transactions
• Quarterly financial and impact reporting preparation
• With oversight from the Senior Associate, maintain and regularly update financial models
• Working with the Senior Associate and management team, identify and implement technology and process improvements related to transactions, reporting and operations
• With oversight from the Director, Clean Energy, lead ongoing asset management activities including communication with existing clients, maintaining operational financial models and checking for operational performance and covenants
• Facilitate transactions (funding, payments) and maintain accounting records for the loan portfolio
• As requested, support the preparation of investment memos, term sheets and associated materials (such as investment summaries and primers)
• As requested, support due diligence on transactions, communicating with independent consultants and drafting credit applications
• Help streamline the Company’s processes and workflows, integrating software and technology solutions

You Have
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field
• 2-3+ years of experience in financial analysis and modelling
• Experience in underwriting and evidence of strong business and financial analytical skills
• Experience in sustainable investing or climate finance is a nice-to-have
• Strong communications skills (oral and written)
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight timelines
