Job Description
WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager – Communications.
We are looking to recruit for an exciting position within WWF-India’s Marketing and Communications team, working directly with all departments within the organization. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Location: New Delhi (fulltime, onsite)
Job Description:
• Writing and editing stories/articles for print collaterals like newsletters, annual reports etc.
• Creating content for digital communication channels & platforms (websites, social media, emailers, fundraising etc.)
• Generating and pitching ideas for fresh content
• Thorough scientific research on conservation topics and interpreting internal field reports into easily digestible content for external audiences
• Travelling to the field offices of WWF-India across India and conducting on-field interviews wherever necessary
• Audio and visual content creation on field trips
• Storyboarding experience; understanding the effectiveness and appropriateness of story assets (text, images, audio, video) and how to combine them
• Visual, audio and video content creation experience; well-developed eye/ear for best practices in each
• Incorporate and balance objectives of all departments to oversee production of strategic, compelling stories
• Collaborate with programme, state and field teams to coordinate and oversee the story collection, production and distribution process
• Crafting editorial calendars and in re-purposing stories across platforms
• Inviting other bloggers, experts, or other notable guests to contribute content to the website
Requirements
• Desired Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in English/Marketing/Creative Writing/Journalism/Communications (or a related field)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant writing, storytelling, and content-creation across print and digital platforms. Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills
• Excellent understanding of content marketing, SEO, and social media
• Working knowledge of AV equipment for capturing stills, recording video stories, facilitating podcasts
• Conversant with MS Office and Canva; any design skills with the Adobe Suite would be considered a plus point
• Working knowledge of online platforms: WordPress CMS, e-newsletter services, social media platforms and relevant scheduling services
• Willingness to travel to field offices of WWF-India for stories
• Interviewing skills for stories: The ability to ask effective questions from a variety of subjects, while being sensitive and empathetic
• A creative mindset and the ability to work well under pressure, completing tasks efficiently, and handling tight deadlines
• Ability to work with various teams across the organization to procure information and translate it into effective content for various audiences
