Creekside Community High School is looking for a skilled teacher-farmer to join our vibrant community. A healthy community requires a foundation of good food, connection to its source, and meaningful careers that allow for personal and financial wellbeing. Our CTE Pathway in Sustainable Agriculture supports this vision. Working with students often facing big obstacles, we provide rich, hands-on learning experiences in our well established gardens as well as our beautiful new greenhouse. Our student-farmers grow and harvest produce year-round to stock our campus free-fridge and to feed our school weekly at our Community Lunch feast. The teacher of this program will partner with our culinary arts program for a seed to table experience. In partnership with campus partners at Supa Fresh Youth Farm, we also provide paid work experiences for many of our students. If you have a bachelor's degree and experience working in agriculture or as a garden educator, you may be eligible to become a teacher for this program through an alternative teaching license pathway offered for Career and Technical Education in Oregon. You will also have the support and mentorship of experienced teachers to help you grow as a teacher. Feel free to give Principal Russ Romas a call if you are curious or interested in learning more before you apply!
