Job Description
The City of Atlanta is hiring an Airport Sustainability Analyst to support sustainability initiatives within the Department of Aviation. Responsibilities include project management, data collection and analysis on sustainability metrics, assisting with Airport Carbon Accreditation compliance, and coordinating training and awareness campaigns. The ideal candidate should be organized, a strong communicator, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The position is based in Atlanta, GA.

General Description and Classification Standards
The City of Atlanta Department of Aviation (DOA) is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Analyst to join our dynamic Sustainability team. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting in project delivery on a granular level, carrying out administrative tasks, collecting and analyzing sustainability data, and ensuring smooth operations for sustainability initiatives, as assigned by the Director of Sustainability.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, enthusiastic about collaborating with cross-functional teams and process improvement, and works well independently as well as on a team.
Supervision Received
• Reports to the Director of Sustainability.May work independently or with others with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.
• Support project management and operational tasks including handling purchase orders and invoices
• Coordinate administrative tasks for sustainability projects, such as scheduling meetings
• Support in identifying and operating critical software for the purpose of streamlining and coordinating activities for staff
• Collect and analyze data on energy consumption, waste management, greenhouse gas emissions, and other sustainability-related metrics to determine trends and progress towards goals
• Support data collection for compilation of ESG report, and analysis of sustainability metrics
• Assist in ensuring Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) compliance by maintaining records, preparing documents for submission, and assisting with tasks required for biennial re-accreditation
• Assist in preparing reports and updates on sustainability program status
• Assist with grant application and management, as needed
• Assist in developing and implementing training sessions and awareness campaigns to educate employees and airport stakeholders on sustainability practices
• Maintain the internal and external Sustainability websites by regularly updating them with relevant and current information
• Support with the coordination of sustainability events including collaborating with stakeholders
• Participate in strategic planning for Sustainability
• Support equity justice and community engagement effortsPerform other related duties as assigned

• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret sustainability-related data, such as energy consumption, emissions, and waste management
• Ability to identify and describe a range of possible solutions for solving sustainability challenges
• Ability to use appropriate software tools to prepare reports and presentations
• Knowledge of tools like Excel, data management software, or sustainability platforms for tracking and analyzing metrics, and streamlining processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Self-starter with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical skills
