Job Description

Talisman is seeking an Air Quality Services Project Manager in Venice, CA, to manage air permitting and compliance projects across various industries. Responsibilities include developing air permit applications, ensuring regulatory compliance, mentoring teams, and collaborating with agencies. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 7 years of experience in air quality consulting. Travel up to 25% is expected for site visits.
Our client, a well-established environmental consulting firm, is seeking an Air Quality Services Project Manager to oversee air permitting and compliance initiatives across diverse industries, including power, industrial, commercial, transportation, and manufacturing sectors. This is an opportunity to work with a talented team on regulatory strategy, permitting, and compliance efforts while contributing to business development and mentorship within the organization.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
• Manage air quality compliance and permitting projects from start to finish
• Develop air permit applications (PSD, Title V) and ensure full regulatory compliance
• Stay updated on air quality laws and regulatory changes to keep clients compliant
• Lead and mentor project teams on technical and regulatory matters
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry professionals
• Conduct air dispersion modeling and provide expert insights
• Identify business opportunities and contribute to team growth
• Represent the company at client meetings, conferences, and regulatory discussions
• Travel up to 25% for site visits and project-related engagements

Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in air quality consulting, including permitting, compliance reporting, and regulatory analysis
• Strong knowledge of Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, LAER, NSPS, MACT, and state-specific air quality laws
• Experience managing projects with financial accountability, quality assurance, and client engagement
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, prior consulting experience, and familiarity with California air permitting laws
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations
