Job Description
The State of Montana is seeking an Air Quality Environmental Scientist in Billings, MT. Responsibilities include analyzing air quality data, reviewing industrial facility compliance, conducting field inspections, and liaising with the public. A bachelor's degree in a science-related field and two years of relevant experience are required. Air Quality Environmental Scientist - (25141154)
The Air Quality Environmental Scientist performs scientific and technical analyses, calculations, assessments and determinations essential to the implementation of the air quality program in the State of Montana. Responsibilities include: Reviewing specifications and processes at existing and proposed industrial facilities; Assessing and responding to permit applications and registration materials; Determining whether facilities are constructed and operated in compliance with air quality rules and permit requirements; Conducting field inspections; Reviewing and implementing state and federal statutes, rules, and policies; and Acting as a liaison for the Department to the public and industry on air quality matters.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a science-based discipline, including those associated with resource protection or management, human health protection, or community planning.
• Two years of job-related experience in environmental resource protection and regulation, or in a related scientific profession.
• Current valid Driver's License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy

Telework Eligibility: Telework Eligible (Full-time telework is not available. Telework schedule must be supervisor approved.)
