Agronomist (Horticulture)

SankalpTaru is hiring an Agronomist (Horticulture) for their PEEPAL Research and Development Centre in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The role involves developing agricultural techniques, researching strategies to combat environmental changes, field visits for sample collection, testing for deficiencies, and training farmers. Candidates should have 1 to 10 years of experience. This is a full-time position based in India.

Experience:

Key responsibilities:
• Developing better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield, and solving problems for clients
• Researching and promoting agricultural strategies to counter the effects of changes in soil, climate, weather, and pest damage
• Visiting fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples
• Testing samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes
• Assisting with the plant sourcing, testing, and selection
• Keeping detailed records regarding fields, crops, and samples
• Generating reports and presenting findings to management, farmers, or other interested parties
• Conducting training on products and techniques through educational presentations to the farmers
• Developing planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines
